Operations Manager

Growing wholesale bakery with excellent growth opportunities based in Queens, NY is looking for an Operations Manager.

In this position you would work closely with the owners and the Department Managers of the firm to help run our operation as smooth and efficient as possible in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. We are looking for motivated, hands-on candidates with a “go-getters” attitude who take charge of a situation work to resolve it quickly.

Salary is highly competitive and depends on prior experience and is based on a six-day per week, work week. Work hours depend on company needs. Your job would entail the following:

Responsibilities:

- Primarily responsible for packaging and distribution teams
- Strong focus on overall Quality Control of products and procedures
- Being the liaison between the office, production, packaging and distribution teams
- Overall responsibility of the operations of the company
o To include policies and procedures that allow our operation to run smooth, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
- Proper continuation of maintenance, inventory and food safety programs
- Come up with operational improvements and lead the implementation of these changes
- Make sure that we adhere to pre-determined budgets
- Make sure that we adhere to all relevant DOT, health, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations
- Make sure that Food Safety Plan is followed and continually monitored


Requirements:
- minimum 5 years of related operations/bakery work experience in a fast-paced environment
- prior bakery industry experience is a must
- must be able to work very carefully and without supervision
- must have good organizational and communication skills
- knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- knowledge of HACCP/ food safety programs a strong plus
- knowledge of Spanish a must
- general knowledge of truck/machine maintenance
