Whisk: a food blog

Shari started this blog in January 2008 by focusing on her lifelong dream of attending culinary school and working through a cooking school curriculum using Le Cordon Bleu at Home cookbook. The "classes" are based on the Le Cordon Bleu curriculum found online and used as a guideline. She now has fellow bloggers who have joined her in this culinary journey, and they're learning a lot about techniques in the kitchen from knife skills to deep frying. They've completed the Basic Cuisine course in their own kitchens and some of them are starting to work through the Basic Pastry classes.

As of September 2009, she started Basic Cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa. It was a dream come true in many ways. She graduated from Basic Cuisine in November and is now saving up to attend another semester.

Also in September 2009, she became a weekly food and wine columnist for Metro Ottawa newspaper.
